Wayfinding an architectural beauty

Warren Mahoney designed an incredible architectural building for Te Kahu O Waipuna, The Marlborough Public Library and Art Gallery. They required a design partner to produce an integrated signage and wayfinding system that would compliment the architecture.

South found inspiration in local nature, to form a graphic language that evokes the colour tones of Marlborough's plant shrubs and large rolling hills of the region. We worked with local Iwi on language, and custom iconography. We worked with Made By South to produce and fabricate the many graphic instances which weave their way through the building from the outside in.
